The 7 principles of Huna
Huna philosophy was developed tens of thousands of years ago by ancestors of present-day Hawaiians in Polynesia.
The basic assumptions of Huna are these:
- 1. IKE
- The World Is What You Think It Is.
- Colour: White
- Power Animal: Dolphin
- If you can change the thought, you can change the experience.
- 2. KALA
- There are no limits.
- Colour: Red
- Power Animal: Bird
- Anything is possible if you figure out how to do that. The Universe is connected to us and we are connected to the Universe. We have an ability to influence the Universe.
- Nothing is totally and completely separate.
- The limits that we see are limits imposed on us by our own minds and are not factual limits imposed by the universe, or something outside of ourselves.
-
- 3. MAKIA
- Energy Flows Where Attention Goes.
- Colour: Orange
- Power Animal: Cat
- Your focus increases the energy from the Universe and flows it towards your target.
- 4. MANAWA
- Now Is The Moment Of Power.
- Colour: Yellow
- Power Animal: Ox, Elephant, Deer
- All power exists in the present moment. There is no power in the past that has any effect on you. No power in the future that has any effect on you. Here is where we change things.
- Act now. All the power for changing your life exists only in the immediate present.
- 5. ALOHA
- To Love Is To Be Happy With (someone or something).
- Colour: Green
- Animal Power: Horse
- Love is a source of power. This is fundamental to the healing process.
- 6.MANA
- All Power Comes From Within.
- Colour: Blue
- Power Animal: Bear
- The origin of power is the Spirit within us. Mana is the name for the one source of all the power that exists in the universe, the life energy.
- 7.PONO
- Effectiveness Is The Measure Of Truth.
- Colour: Purple
- Animal: Wolf
- There are many ways of doing things. The better way is the way that works. Every system is arbitrary.
- A method, a plan, certain actions, when put in motion may work. If they work, that is all you need to be concerned with.
- In the following video, Katie Freiling puts the 7 principles together as an inspirational message.
